Deepavali : The Festival of Lights

Diwali (Deepavali) is the festival of lights symbols the victory of good over evil, brightness over darkness. Deepavali is a Sanskrit word, deep means light and avali means row of lights. Whole country is illuminated with rows of lamps, beautiful lighting on the street, houses and buildings. The festival is celebrated for four long days in a grand manner with earthen diyas, mouthwatering sweets, floral decoration, beautiful people dressed in colorful outfits and fireworks marking the glorious occasion.

Lord Narayan in his dwarf state banished the King to hell, 4th day is Bhai dooj/ Yama dvitiya on this day all the sisters invite their brothers to their homes and treat them with oil bath, gifts, good lunch and pray for their long life, good health and prosperity.
